Here's a clever way to make money off the dreams of fitness devotees. We will use a scheme to exploit people's faith in common fitness myths.  People will simply not settle for what exercise can realistically do for us. In this case, Gary Lee's Ultra-Vitality Now! should do nicely.

As this program hits the market, we will concoct ways to get people even more freaked out about their state of fitness.

"Nature has passed on to the human organism certain weaknesses. This program strengthens them."

Of course, fitness scammers are already making such appeals on a grand scale. We will simply join in. If we can manage to charm the fitness faithful, we too can show a profit.
________

Such idiocy does not attract rational trainees. The person with practical goals, who accepts that, after applying smart exercise and nutritional practices, there is a point where their body simply does what it will; to ask for more will only give the sports doctor, the fitness scammer (or the steroid peddler) a blank check.

Enticing us to buy their body-sculpting products, fitness frauds produce clever infomercials, featuring fitness models, and retouched photos. Paid athletes, who do not use the products they promote, claim it will sculpt an area to perfection, and give lasting results. All the butt busters, food supplements, thigh toners, powders, abdominal machines and other contraptions, promise a rock hard body. A few weeks after buying them, it's "Stow or Throw." Nonetheless, we too will create infomercials, and make the program: Gary Lee's Ultra-Vitality Now! look easy and effective.

We are always searching for a no-effort way to exercise. But if it were so easy, we would not be getting a workout, or burning calories. Other than the subtle things such as that which makes an exercise more comfortable, we must still put forth the effort - if we want the benefits of exercise-there's no way around it.

Clearly, exercise has major advantages; it may even enhance brain function. Having minor effect on countering adult obesity*, it still may prevent heaviness in children. For now, investigators find that calorie control is the key. While being active has numerous benefits, in controlling adult heaviness, it appears to have meager effects.
